The second herd of Elephants that have arrived to participate in the World famous Mysuru Dasara Jumbusavaari was weighed today. The Elephants who arrived in the first herd were also weighed. The weighing process of the Mysuru Dasara Elephants was held at the Weighing Bridge in Dhanavantri, Mysuru . And this time too, Arjuna proved to be the strongest among all and he weighed 5885 Kgs. Captain Abhimanyu 5000 Kgs, Chaitra 3235 Kgs, Bhima 4345 Kgs, Gopalaswamy 5460 Kgs, Mahendra 4450 Kgs, Vijaya 2760 Kgs, Gopi 4670 Kgs, Dhananjaya 4890 Kgs, Sri Rama 4475 Kgs, Lakshmi 3150 Kgs, Sugriva 4785 Kgs , Kaveri 3245 Kgs and Parthasarathy, still the youngest in this herd weighs 3445 Kgs. DCF Dr. V. Karikalan said that they weighed 14 Elephants considering both the herds for Mysuru Dasara. All the males of the second herd were ranging from 4000 to 4600 Kgs, the youngest Elephant, Parthasarathy, weighed 3445 Kgs, and the weight of all the Elephants of the first herd was higher. He also added that all the Elephants are cooperating well in the training as well. Today for the first time, all 14 Elephants were brought out of the Mysuru Palace for weighing, Sri Rama and Parthasarathy along with the Elephants of the first herd participated in the training yesterday. He said that all the Elephants will participate in the training from September 12 2022. The Hon’ble Minister for Co-Operation and the Mysuru District In-charge Minister Sri. S.T. Somashekhar celebrated by dancing with the children of Mahouts and Kaavadigas.
