Minister of Co-Operation and Mysuru District In-charge Minister Sri.S.T. Somashekar presided over the pre-meeting of Naada Habba Mysuru Dasara Mahotsava 2022 which was held today at the Collectorate Hall. In the meeting, the Minister acknowledged the information from the officials regarding the planning of Dasara programmes. He suggested adding the name of Mandya District while giving tax exemption to tourist vehicles arriving from outside states. Tourists arriving in Mysuru have to ensure that they do not get disturbed while visiting various tourist places in Mandya District which includes KRS and Srirangapatna. Therefore, while giving tax exemption to inter-state vehicles, the name of Mandya District should also be added, he said. This is the first time that the health and industrial Dasara program is being organized. A letter has been written to the District Health Welfare Officers to organize the health fair and exhibition related to health issues. The Deputy Collector informed the Minister that the industrial association has requested for four days of industrial Dasara Celebrations. District Comissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautam said that efforts are being made to issue a unified ticket for viewing the Palace, Zoo, Chamundi Hill, Dasara exhibition, Fruit and Flower Exhibition. In the meeting, various officials including Chairman of various Corporation Boards along with Police Commissioner Chandragupta, GIP CEO Purnima, Corporation Commissioner Laxmikanth Reddy were also present.
In a few days, the world famous Mysuru Dasara festival will begin, and the Gajapades (Chivalry) participating in the attractive Jambusavari have been camped in the Mysore Ambavilasa Palace premises and have participated in lifting training. Meanwhile Minister for Cooperation and District Incharge Minister Sri S.T. Somashekhar offered pooja to the Artillery carriages in the presence of Elephants and Horses to initiate the process of Artillery CDC exercise. As part of Dasara celebration, District Incharge Minister Sri S.T. Somasekhar offered puja by breaking pumpkins in the palace premises as per the tradition for the canons to conduct training for blasting Kushalatopu as part of Dasara Procession. On this occasion, Mysuru DC Dr. Bagadi Gautam, City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta, DCP Geeta Prasanna M.S. and others were also present. Puja is offered to the 11 gun carriages in the first week of September in the presence of Elephants and Horses and practice is conducted by bursting explosives. On Vijayadashami, the police pay their respects by bursting Kushalatopu 21 times near the palace. Before the beginning of Dasara, practice is conducted by bursting explosives through canons so that the elephants and horses can participate in the Jambusavari without being scared or distracted by the noise.
