If it means that the cultural city of Mysuru is beautified like a bride, if it means that people are eager to see the beautiful Mysuru, if it means that there are stories of history and mythology to listen to, various cultural and religious programs are going to be held, it means that Naada Habba Mysuru Dasara has begun . Beautiful Dasara is coming again as the lyrical line says “Mysuru Dasara yeshtondhu sundara, chellide nageya panneera”. The world famous Mysuru Dasara warmly welcomes you all.

The last two or three years a simple Dasara was celebrated under the shadow of Corona. Now that the wave has subsided considerably, it has been decided to celebrate Dasara this time in a grand manner. Naada Habba Mysuru Dasara Festival is the biggest and most important festival conducted under the auspices of Government of Karnataka. The Mysuru Dasara Festival 2022 will begin on the auspicious Vrushchika Lagna from 9:45 am to 10.05 am on September 26 and conclude with the Vijayadashami Jambusavaari procession after the Nandi Flag Puja on the auspicious Makara Lagna from 2.36 pm to 2.50 pm on October 5.

Having the history of over hundreds of years, Mysuru Dasara festival is not limited to any one section of people and it has become a festival for all. There is no caste and religious discrimination here. It is a joyous festival where everyone participates happily.

Various programs are held in these 9 auspicious days of Navrathri. Seeing Mysuru beautified on Navrathri is a feast for the eyes. The colourful lighting fondly know as DEEPALANKAARA attracts everyone. The various decorations in households namely Saraswati Pooja, Ayudha Pooja, Durga Pooja are special in Navrathri. Besides, many programs are conducted by the Government of Karnataka. Dozens of events attract people like food mela, flower arrangements, cultural programs, farmer’s Dasara, women’s Dasara, children’s Dasara, poetry recital are also conducted to name a few.

Special poojas are also held at Ambavilasa Palace in Mysuru. His Majesty Sri Yaduveera Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar, a royal descendant of the Royal Mysuru Kingdom , conducts the Darbar, which is the prime reason the Darbar hall is specially decorated. Apart from these the festivity poojas like Saraswati Pooja, Ayudha Pooja, Banni Pooja are performed in the Palace too.

His Majesty Sri Yaduveera Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar, a royal descendant of the Royal Mysuru Kingdom , conducts the Darbar, which is the prime reason the Darbar hall is specially decorated. Apart from these the festivity poojas like Saraswati Pooja, Ayudha Pooja, Banni Pooja are performed in the Palace too.

Our very Captain Cool the Abhimanyu is ready as always waiting to carry the idol of Naada Devi Mother Chamundeshwari’s Golden Thrown in a gold barn on Vijayadashami. Training for Elephants during Dasara is in full swing. The decoration of Dasara elephants on Vijayadashami is also attractive and a treat to watch.
